A Historical Overview of the Kiwanis Club of Norwalk
- Founded in 1920, the first service club in Norwalk, CT.
- Established the Kiwanis Homeless Shelter, later renamed the Norwalk Shelter.
- Helped establish the Norwalk YMCA in the early 1920's.
- Donated the first thermal imaging camera to the Norwalk Fire Dept.
- Donated the 31 ft. Fire Safety Trailer to the Norwalk Fire Dept.
- Started the RIF - Reading Is Fundamental - program in the Norwalk School System, donate $4,500 annually for new books.
- Sponsor of the Norwalk Little League Team since 1954.
- Sponsor of the annual Bill Kozma Golf Tournament.
- Sponsor of the DARE anti-drug educational program for all fifth graders in the Norwalk School System.
- Provide periodic financial support to the Norwalk Senior Center.
- Provide periodic financial support to the "Courage to Speak Foundation" in Norwalk.
- Provide $8,500 in annual college scholarships to graduating high school seniors.
